A Romanian has won the toughest ultra-marathon in  the world, held in  Antarctic at minus 25 degrees Celsius.

Adriana Istrate has  thus become the first Romanian winner of  a ultra-marathon, going a hundred miles in about 24 hours. It is an enviable performance, especially since she had  started training a year and a half in advance.

A banking consultant by profession, she has completely changed her  life and wants to participate in seven marathons and 7 ultra-marathons, on 7 different continents. The athlete has   announced that she  will donate the money earned to care for children suffering from  cancer.

Another Romanian, Andrei Roşu, held until recently the world record for the fastest time in which he had completed marathons and ultra-marathons on every continent, according to World Record Academy.
