Adrian Ursu called on for the signing of a letter of gratitude to the british people that raised money to repair the store of a romanian family that got burned down.

The shop was set to fire on 8th July in Norwich. Romanian Foreign Ministry reacted promptly and asked local authorities to clarify the situation and to prevent any hostile acts towards romanians. ”Something spectacular happened and I believe it requires our attention. People gathered and rallied to say ”NO to RACISM””, Adrian Ursu explained during Secvential Tv Show on Antena 3.

Letter of gratitude

Sir, Madam, Dear citizens of Norwich,

I was deeply impressed by the gesture of solidarity and mobilization that occured after the extremist attack on the business location and home of a romanian family on Magdalena no 24A street. There are plenty of us here, in Romania, but also in the UK, that wish to express our gratitude and appreciation for the civil spirit, for the unity showed by your community, for the profoundly human nature of your initiative. We assure that you can always count on our support, the romanians, and that you can consider our countrymen that live in England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland your best neighbours, honest men that go to work every day, pay their taxes to british government, care for sick people in hospitals, build houses or office buildings, work in banks or in stores around big cities.

On behalf of each one of them, on behalf of their desire to be treated with respect and to keep their dignity, thinking about the security they want for their children and families, cherishing the values and principles of a democratic society, like the one they chose to live in, Sir, Madam, we send you our honest acknowledgement and trustworthy thoughts.

The Romanian Comunity in Great Britain and we, the ones in Romania, dissaprove the gestures of violence, racism, xenophobia, as well as the shameful acts committed against others by some Romanian citizens and believe that  they should be punished according to the law, vigorously. Madam, Sir, please recieve our friendly help, just as we have done it when Romanians needed your support.
