"I am announcing you beforehand that I will support, I will promulgate an amendment to the Constitution as proposed by all of us, the USL in 2012, a Constitution to stipulate clearly what does the president do, what the Government does, what the Parliament does, what a mayor has to do, what a county council president has to do, a constitution that should help us avoid conflicts, not to get into a fight every day or every week”, Ponta said, according to Mediafax.
Premier Ponta pointed out that he wanted to be a president usefull to the society.
"I want to be an usefull president to the society. The question that everyone is asking is what remains after ten years of Traian Băsescu’s mandate? Hatred, discord, lives destroyed. What has he done good for Romania, who has he done useful to the society? I think that the President should be the man you go to for a solution to avoid a conflict. I believe that a president cannot be the person sowing wind and then be suprised that he is reaping whirlind ", Ponta said.
Ponta said that, in his view, the role of uniting, of dialogue, of acceptance of all opinions, of being able to put people to work together and not fight is the most important quality that the future president of Romanians, not only of Romania must have.
