"I wanted to convey a very clear message from the point of view of Romania's position to what happened in Ukraine, our total solidarity and coordination with the political positions of the United States of America, our European partners condemning what happened, the killing of so many innocent people in that terrorist acts, that the Russian Federation is politically and morally responsible and Romania’s clear support for a resolute action of the European community, of the transatlantic community, because such things cannot go unpunished, " Ponta said during the Government meeting, Mediafax reports.
The prime minister added that from this point of view, he and Foreign Minister Titus Corlatean have sent very clear messages, namely that the EU and U.S. partners can rely on Romania in these difficult times.
Victor Ponta said yesterday, referring to the aircraft shot down in Ukraine, that the "attack on a civilian plane is a terrorist attack that cannot be accepted and cannot remain without consequences" and that "it is obvious that those separatists were and still are supported by the Russian Federation ".
