President Klaus Iohannis congratulates Romania's women's epee team on their gold medal at the Rio 2016 Summer Olympic Games fencing competitions, saying in a Facebook post that they have made an entire country proud.
"Congrats to our women's epee team, which last night won the gold at Rio 2016! Thanks to their talent, strength of character and after thousands of hours of training, Simona Gherman, Ana Maria Popescu, Simona Pop and Loredana Dinu managed to propel Romania to the first place of the Olympic podium, making an entire country proud of their performance," reads Iohannis's message.
Romania's women's epee team won the gold medal at Rio 2016 Summer Olympic Games on Thursday as they defeated defending champion China in the final 44-38.
