Klaus Iohannis, Corina Creţu and Jean-Claude Junker have held a joint press conference during the visit to Brussels of the Romanian President.
"As European Commissioner assigned by Romania, I’ve had the great pleasure to greet, along with President Juncker, the President of Romania, Mr. Klaus Iohannis, on his first visit to Brussels. European Commission understands very well the importance of European funds for Romania, as they are the main source of public investment.
Therefore we created a working group for the Member States with a low absorption rate of EU funds, among which Romania, and we are in constant dialogue with these countries to make full use of the 11 months remaining, when payments for the period 2007 – 2013 can still be made " European Commissioner for Regional Policy, Corina Cretu said.
