The Romanian band Voltaj has qualified to the final of the Eurovision contest, after the first semifinal of the European song contest hosted on Tuesday at the Wiener Stadthalle, Agerpres correspondent reports.

The national representatives of Albania, Armenia, Russia, Hungary, Serbia, Belgium, Estonia, Greece and Georgia are the other winners of this semifinal to move forward to the final, after a vote where the public and the specialized jury had equal weights in the classification.

The soloist of the Romanian band Voltaj, Calin Goia said he is happy with the band's qualification to the Eurovision final, as he believes that the vote they received is a support to the song's message 'De la capat/ All over again.'

'We are very, very, very happy,' said Calin Goia in a news conference on Tuesday night, after the announcement of the countries which qualified in the Eurovision final.

'If you voted for us, then you've supported our message,' he added.

The chief of the Romanian delegation, Liana Stanciu completed him, saying that this is the 21st year in a row when Romania qualifies in the Eurovision music contest final.

Calin Goia added that in Vienna also were alongside him and his band, his two sons aged 7 and 8, and reminded that the song 'De la capat/ All over again' speaks about the children left behind by the parents who went to work abroad.

'It is paramount to solve this problem, the situation needs an immediate solution. We are part of Europe. We are a veteran band. It is wonderful that we could share this message with you,' said Calin Goia, adding that the situation of the children who grow up in the absence of their parents is not only a Romanian problem.

'On Sunday, on the red carpet I spoke to a Polish national who told me that there are two million Poles working abroad. I burst into tears. It is not our problem only,' the Voltaj soloist added.

Being asked what great artist he would like to sing with in the tour, he said 'Bono from the U2.'
