Former Prime Minister Adrian Nastase commented on Prime Minister Victor Ponta message related to a possible retirement from politics, saying the head of the Government could be pushed to run for President, but the post "does not convey anything final."
"He might announce that he will run for the presidential elections after the European elections. I do not believe that he wants to be the candidate. He may be pushed from behind by colleagues to run”, former Prime Minister Adrian Nastase said from prison in an interview broadcast Saturday during the Q & A show, on Antenna 3.
Nastase said that Ponta's announcement that he was leaving from politics was unclear, as it gave rise to questions, not answers.
"In my opinion, the posting does not provide any answers, but asks questions. First, for the colleagues. (...) He talks about the project which he has been engaged in ever since I invited him to join my team. I do not think that he conveys something definitive, but rather defines the stakes and goals", Nastase said, on Antena 3.

In a post published on his social network account, Ponta intimates that he wants to retire from politics in November, after the presidential elections. Asked about the post, the Prime Minister refused to comment on the information.
"In November, after winning this last and vital battle, I will be satisfied with what we have achieved! And then I want to leave politics to others, younger and less marked by the horrible regime of recent years. And I want to recover as much as possible of the time that over the past 13 years I have not given to the family and to other good and beautiful parts of my life", Prime Minister Victor Ponta wrote Friday on his official Facebook account.
According to analysts, the message on his “retirement" from politics could be another error communication of the premier’s team, but politicians talk about a possible retreat to ... Cotroceni.
