Crin Antonescu: I would have nothing against appointing Basescu Prime Minister, if I become president
Crin Antonescu stated for a TV station that if he were president he would have nothing against appointing Traian Basescu prime minister.

The only condition is that it he should be proposed by the party which won the elections. PNL President believes, however, that the chances of this happening are very small.

Moreover, he wants the law to be changed so that the president should no longer be so much involved in the assignment of the prime minister.

‘A political party that has won the parliamentary elections should come to me and say. We have won the parliamentary elections, Mr. Traian Basescu is our official candidate for the office of prime minister. At that time, Mr. Traian Basescu would be assigned Prime Minister of Romania. The assignment is not a subjective action: the president has to take note of the choice the citizens have made ’, the Senate president said.
