The Interim president of the Social Democratic Party, Liviu Dragnea, claims that the negotiations over the new Fiscal Code are not over.
For the time being, one hasn't come up with a solution to be adopted by Parliament, Dragnea says. "We didn't agree on a solution, but on a proposal that may become the final solution or may require more nuances," the Social Democrat leader pointed out.
Parliamentary party representatives had announced the other day they had reached a consensus on the draft Fiscal Code: a value added tax of 20 percent in 2016 and a 19 percent VAT in 2017.
During last week's consultations, the parties also decided to scrap the extra duty taxes on alcohol and fuels by January 2017.
