Christian Liberal Alliance's candidate Klaus Iohannis got 54.50 percent of the vote in the second round of the presidential elections on Sunday, while Prime Minister Victor Ponta, the candidate of the Social Democratic Party - National Union for Romania's Progress - Conservative Party alliance polled 45.49 percent, according to the data released by the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) at 11 a.m. on Monday after centralizing the reports from 18,673 polling stations, accounting for 99.07 percent of the total, Agerpres notes.

ccording to the figures centralized by the Bureau by 10:20 a.m. on Monday, Iohannis polled 6,242,825 votes and Ponta 5,211,097.

The counties recording delays in reporting the data are Constanta (78.44 pct), Olt (87.83 pct), Alba (99.07 pct), Arad (99.54 pct), Mehedinti (99.07 pct) and Tulcea (96.56 pct), or a total 174 polling stations.

Also centralized were the figures from all 294 polling stations set up abroad, where 379,116 people cast a vote.

Bureau spokesman Marian Muhulet announced this was the last release on Monday.
