Prime Minister Victor Ponta was asked Thursday in Tulcea, to comment President Traian Basescu’s statement that some candidates should complete their resumes and he replied that the president probably wanted to blackmail the Liberal leader Klaus Iohannis .
Asked about the allegation of the president, Victor Ponta said that he had only held known public offices and that he had nothing to hide. "He probably wants to blackmail Iohannis. I have no idea. It is his business," Ponta said.
The prime minister said that "this is what Traian Basescu and his followers stand for: blackmail and threats."
Asked why he would blackmail the Liberal leader, Ponta replied: "I do not know, ask him. You are asking me why Băsescu is blackmailing Iohannis? I do not know".
