Klaus Iohannis announced his support for Alina Gorghiu at the PNL’s presidency

President-elect Klaus Iohannis announced Wednesday at the informal meeting of liberal leaders, his support for  Alina Gorghiu’s  candidacy for President of the Liberal Party, according to Liberal sources,  Mediafax reports .

PNL prime vice president  Alina Gorghiu announced her  intention to run for president of the party, while Teodor Atanasiu will retire from the position of candidate.

At the moment there are two candidates for president of the liberal party: Alina Gorghiu and Ludovic Orban. The office  will become vacant after the withdrawal from  the party  of the elected President Klaus Iohannis.
