President Klaus Iohannis says, after the Senate rejected the DNA request for Sova's arrest, that he cannot overlook the fact that the Parliament has blocked again a request by the judiciary, showing that, in a state of law, no one is above the law and the Parliament cannot act as a court.

Here is the message Klaus Iohannis posted on Facebook:

"As a guarantor for the observance of the Constitution and the rule of law, I cannot overlook the fact that the Parliament has again blocked today a request filed by the judiciary. In a state of law no one is above the law. The quality of senator or minister should not give anyone immunity to justice. The Parliament cannot set itself up in court. Justice is the only able to speak up, starting, of course, from the presumption of innocence. Only a Parliament with strong principles in terms of integrity, able to respond promptly and accurately to the demands of justice, can regain the confidence of citizens. "

The Senate did not approve the placement in custody of Dan Şova, out of the 151 votes cast, 79 were in favor, 67 against and five votes were cancelled. The voting was secret.
