The National Liberal Party does not back President Klaus Iohannis as far as the decision to raise the wages of high ranking dignitaries across the board is concerned. The Liberals bluntly reject the idea of doubling MP allowances as well. The honourary Chairman of the National Liberal Party, Mircea Ionescu Quintus, said that the idea to increase MP salaries is quite disgusting, since the Romanian Senators and Deputies are paid well enough as it is. In yesterday's session, the Liberals' Board decided that the party should not vote any ordinance with this purpose
