Ponta was asked by Mihai Gadea whether he would run in this year's presidential elections and the Prime Minister’s response was: "I do not know today, but after May 25 I will tell you, for sure. It depends on whether the USL is restored or not".
Ponta explained that if the USL were to be restored, then one of the functions, the president’s office or the prime minister’s office will go the PSD and the other one will go to the PNL.
"It depends on what our Liberal colleagues will decide after May 25. (...) My first option is to restore the USL", Victor Ponta stated.
He added that he wanted the Liberal leader Crin Antonescu, to go back to him, stating however that he did not believe in such a possibility, because Antonescu is too proud, and they did not discussed lately.
