Prime Minister Victor Ponta said Monday that the Nana land purchased by Ioana Basescu was about money laundering and he was convinced that the President would go to jail.
Ponta also said that he would personally sign the criminal complaint against Băsescu on the accusation of threat and blackmail against Gabriela Firea.
Asked if Băsescu could be summoned before the prosecution following this criminal complaint, Ponta replied: "he will be , in December".
"As you can see, the Prosecutor's Office opened a case because it is very clear that several civil and criminal laws regarding land acquisition were broken. I said it's about money laundering and washing of properties that Mr. Basescu has had for a long time, towards the end of his term, he tries to whiten them and pass them as somewhat legal ", Ponta added.
He said that the investigations into the Nana land acquisition were at the beginning and stated that there "will be other elements", related to the request formulated by Parliamentary Inquiry Commission, and filed with the NAFA or the National Office for Prevention and Anti-Money Laundering.
"Other people are liable before the law until December, Mr. Basescu from December on will need and answer before the law. He is a corrupt and a communist, and he is claiming that others are" Ponta added.
