The only one who voted against the presidential candidacy of Elena Udrea is Cristian Preda. The PMP vice president says it is a mistake, and the one to get out "dishonored" from this argument between Udrea and Cristian Diaconescu is actually Traian Basescu.
"I would very much regretted it that after this elections campaign, the President (Traian Basescu – editor’s note) should come out dishonored and I'm afraid that since the party urged his support for Cristian Diaconescu, and now the same party changes the candidate without any serious grounds, this places the president in a delicate situation and I regret, as former adviser to the President, whom the President supported, I do not agree that he comes out dishonored from this business. I believe that the party harms him", Cristian Preda said after the meeting of the National Council of PMP.
Cristian Preda made the statement Tuesday after Elena Udrea was assigned the party's candidate in the presidential elections, Preda being the only one who voted against.
Moreover, Preda also called for the resignation of the PMP leader Elena Udrea.
