Sunday, hosted the meeting of the Conservative Party Political Bureau members, composed of MPs and county leaders. The agenda was interrupted by an unexpected event, an open letter sent by Iacob Gheorghe, a member of the Conservative Party since 2011 addressed to PC leader Daniel Constantin. The letter by Gheorghe became the main topic for the debates of those present. In the letter, Daniel Constantine was accused of using the party as a springboard to occupy political office, pursuing his own interests, forgetting  the party objectives and  those who  supported him. Here is the letter that all members of the Conservative Party Political Bureau received.

“President Daniel Constantin, We have all witnessed how lately you have displayed a lack of courage vision. You have no idea what politics is. You have turned the party that chose you in a pocket party, humble and silent servant of the other political actors.

You have pursued your personal interests exclusively and forgot  about  the  party brand and what it means to honor and tell the truth. In 2012, the Conservative Party was one of the three parties that made the USL, a construction that changed the destiny of Romania, won the trust of Romanians and 3 rows of elections. And that's not because of your actions. In all these years, you've hidden behind the powerful and your  only effort was  to cling  to your seat.

Exclusively concerned by your own image and how to pose best, you have disregarded  the party, the  MPs, the subsidiaries, without a  coordination and political perspective. You have ignored the complaints of members and have forgotten  all those who have  helped << perch>>  you in your high office from  where today you  no longer see anything. For the sake of your position and image  you've lied and left in the hands of  justice the man who inspired and supported you most.

You have put 12 innocent people in prison hiding the truth confirmed by the Court of Auditors published reports in 2003 and 2004 showing  that there were  no damages in the  ICA file incurred to the  Ministry of Agriculture. You have  knowingly become the  accomplice of  Dacian Ciolos, who gave no legal basis for the Ministry of Agriculture’s endorsement as a  civil party in the  case built on political revenge.

Mr. Constantine, as you look into the eyes of party colleagues, partners, family members and all those who know the price of the current location and functions? Yet, to this party, you have a duty to a minimum gesture of honor: to give your resignation. You have not offered anything, neither party nor me. We have nothing to lose.

Mr.  Constantin, how can you bear to look  at  your party  colleagues, family members and all those who know the price of your  current position?" Yet, to this party, you have the duty to do  a minimum gesture of honor: to submit  your resignation. You have not offered anything, neither to the  party nor  to me. We have nothing to lose.

IACOB GHEORGHE / PC member since December  2011"

The letter of Iacob Gheorghe comes shortly after another incident within the party to one of the previous meetings of the Politburo. At that meeting, the vice president Cristian Popescu Piedone asked  for a Congress meeting to be held to make some profound changes within the party:

"It's problematic. If we do not start building, we will not solve anything. I propose in January-February to hold an Extraordinary Congress. Let's see what we do with this party. It should be resuscitated. I, the mayor, have had six councilors in the council, now I have 14. Each must consolidate the city. We must see: can we proceed forward? ".

Daniel Constantin acknowledged the need for change, but said that the party would rather need a marketing campaign that was "adjust" here and there, the party's image, to the amusement of those present: "At 9 tonight, I am meeting  a marketing firm. We should rebrand the party ".
