The "Fleet" file, one of the heaviest in the post-revolutionary history, could be reopened despite the decision taken in secrete by the DNA prosecutors to dismiss the case.
Besides the appeal already announced by expert Gabriel Stefanescu, the former assessor in the "Fleet" case file, we learn from other official sources that another appeal will be filed by the Government. What is the role of government in this matter, and on what basis will it submit the appeal?
Razvan Savaliuc had a phone intervention on Antena 3, in the edition of the show On Today’s Agenda with Dana Grecu and Radu Tudor" where he explained the procedures that the government must follow: "The first thing DNA must do is to communicate the solution of the case dismissal to the parties. Then the injured civilian party, that is the Romanian Government through the authority of the state responsible with the valuation of the state’s assets which have been harmed (...) The first obligation AVAS must have after DNA communicates the solution is to file a complaint within 20 with the Superior Prosecution Office the head of DNA, Laura Codruţa Kovesi. After the Government complaint is rejected, they will have the open way to go before court ", he explained.
"Eu zic că din procesul de lichidare al companiei Petromin, care a fost invocat de Gabriel Ştefanescu (n.r. expertul care s-a ocupat de dosarul Flota), vom avea surpize. Statul are de recuparat nişte bani. Compania Petromin a lăsat nişte găuri bugetului statului român. Procesul de lichidare nu este unul uşor. (...) Gabrie Ştefanescu ştia despre ce vorbeşte şi avea în evidenţă toate documentele ce pot face obiectul unei plângeri", a mai adăugat şi Radu Tudor.
