Sunday night's edition of the "Meeting Point" show addressed the topic of the presidential elections. In this context, the President of the Senate, Călin Popescu Tariceanu was invited by Radu Tudor to talk about the new party he established.
The former prime minister explained that he started out with the idea of the Liberal Reform Party to modernize Romania’s fundamental liberal values.
"In Romania I am pleased to see that there are people who believe in the values of liberalism and have joined us in this new formula. A large electorate, certainly less than a social democratic one, but there are people who believe in liberalism. Whether we are talking about the middle-class, the free lancers, they are those who do not necessarily identify with the classical group but who believe that Romania can modernize, that it can grow with these values. "
Also, the Minister has explained that the party will have a constitution Congress; there will be debates, discussions and ideas that, in the end, will form a new party.
"We will have a constitution congress, we will hold elections. We will have a day dedicated to political debates. To present what we want to do, what are the things that characterize us, so that people can say" Yes, I agree with the values of the Liberal Reform Party. "
There will be several speakers, amendments, resolutions, until finally we have a vision. I am unpleasantly surprised by the big parties attitude in Romania who have dropped debates. The come on TV shows, they choose the members of their management and everyone goes home happy. Therefore, I want this congress to mark another way of doing politics in Romania.
