The deputies have rejected Traian Băsescu’s proposition for the Constitution’s amendment
The Chamber of Deputies rejected Traian Băsescu’s proposition for the Constitution’s amendment. The MPs decision is final.

A number of 41 deputies voted in favor of the bill, the PDL group. The other MPs have not voted for the projected submitted by Basescu in 2011.

The bill received 259 votes "against", 41 "for" and 18 abstentions.

The draft bill included, among others, the existence of a unicameral Parliament with 300 MPs

The leader of the Liberal MPs, Andrei Gerea replied that another draft bill is being drafted to revise the Constitution which provides for the reduction of the number of MPs, Mediafax informs.
