A hallucinating project for the Székely autonomy was introduced Thursday by the UDMR President Kelemen Hunor.

The roads, highways and railways routes of regional interest would enter into the public domain of the Székely County, the document provides.

The region’s budget would cash in 20% of the VAT collected in the area, 12% of income tax transferred by companies and 50% of the net profit of the Romanian Lottery in the region.
The Székely Land would be headed by a president, who would attend the meetings of the Romanian Government dealing with issues concerning the region.

From the heart of Romania, from Cluj-Napoca, Kelemen Hunor has publicly presented the UDMR project providing for the union of counties Harghita, Covasna and Mures under an autonomous region with legal personality.

The region would be headed by a Regional Council, based in Sântu Gheorghe and a president who would attend the government meetings dealing with matters concerning the area.

The UDMR leaders admit that the so-called Szekely Land will not be able to financially support itself and therefore they do not hesitate to ask the national government for a consistent subsidy from the central budget.

Instead, they want the highways, railways, forests, mines and all the buildings that are now owned by the state government to be transferred under the autonomous region’s authority.

The region’s budget would cash in 60% on the gambling tax collected at regional level. Moreover, all the taxes and levies would be directed towards a single source the Public Finance department of Miercurea Ciuc.

Once officially launched the UDMR project will be available for public consultation for an indefinite period, and the it will be introduced into the legislative process.

Radu Tudor stated Thursday during the show On Today’s Agenda on Antena 3, that he does not believe in a mere coincidence that the UDMR President Kelemen Hunor, demands territorial autonomy for the three counties on the same day the Scottish independence is being held.
