The Senate Permanent Bureau noted the termination of the committee’s activity because the Prosecutor's Office opened an in rem criminal investigation for the Calarasi restitutions.
Prosecutors from the High Court of Cassation and Justice have recently begun the criminal prosecution for the offenses of conflict of interest, abuse of office, forgery of official documents and forgery of private documents in connection with the reconstitution of the ownership and leasing of land in the Nana village, Calarasi County.
This means that now the committee cannot hear anyone. And the final report it had to draft can be challenged on the grounds of breach of procedures.
