On April 20, Traian Băsescu confirmed that he had been notified by the General Prosecutor that he was suspect on a money laundering case related to a land plot purchase.
The former president said he would appear before prosecutors as soon as he is subpoenaed, adding that in this case, in June 2012, the same prosecution ordered the dismissal of criminal charges.
