Civic Force President Mihai Razvan Ungureanu stated  Monday for Gandul  live that Elena Udrea’s role  in politics is "deeply toxic", noting that one of those who contributed to the separation of Traian Basescu  from the quality people he had  worked in  time is the  PMP leader, Mediafax reports.

He said that Elena Udrea recently attacked him  "insultingly". " I honestly believe that Ms Udrea’s  role in politics is deeply toxic" Ungureanu said, noting that he hoped the  PMP president learned a lesson from the episodes  of her confrontation with him.

Asked about the fact that Elena Udrea was supported by Traian Băsescu, Ungureanu said that the president had his merits in that he  tried to promote valuable people, but added that they had left in time. The former prime minister said he believed that one of the people who contributed to the separation of President Basescu from the  quality people with whom he worked - starting with Andrei Pleşu and ending with Teodor Baconschi and  Adrian Papahagi - is Elena Udrea.

Civic Force leader said that the tone of the responses he had got, in various ways,  to  the articles he  wrote recently in the press, were  similar to that of the Stalinist period. "You do not belong with the right wing  with a  Stalinist political thinking  and when you expect  to have only the cult of personality," Ungureanu said.

He said that there are two names in the Romanian politics that you cannot ignore when it comes to the 10-year term of President Basescu  in the office and that is : Elena Udrea  and Dan Voiculescu

"Honestly, I do not believe that  Mrs. Udrea has had honest  friends to draw her attention," Ungureanu said.

The PMP President, Elena Udrea said Monday that Mihai Răzvan Ungureanu  is trying to make his way into  the unification  project by  attacking her and President Traian Basescu and pointed out  that if someone denies something he had  endorsed, then he sends out a signal to the electorate that  he is being  opportunistic.

Udrea said she understood that for some Basescu's legacy did not matter since PDL and PNL are merging against the President, but those of the PMP and the voters were indeed  interested in the legacy Traian Basescu.
