PPDD merged through absorption with UNPR after a joint meeting of the UNPR National Conference and PPDD Congress, reads a release of UNPR, according to Mediafax.
"I want you to know that in organizational terms we are strong and we will be increasingly stronger. We had 358,000 party members registered to the Tribunal, the largest party in Romania - PSD had about 500,000, and the others, about 100,000 registered members each. In the recent two months, over 70,000 Romanians have registered in the UNPR. I am convinced that with you we now stand at 500,000 UNPR party members "said Gabriel Oprea, UNPR president, quoted in the release.
Oprea argued that UNPR must " remain in power" and strengthen itself "as the third party in Romania".
"Whoever wants stability, security and reliability, should join the UNPR, so we can reach a million party members. I know it's hard, but we can make it," said UNPR President.
