Members of the European Parliament Norica Nicolai and Cătălin Ivan, both from the Social Liberal Union (USL), accuse democrat-liberal MEP Monica Macovei that she affects Romania's interest by lies she circulates to the European institutions. The two held a press conference in Bucharest, where they accused Macovei of lying when adressing UE institutions and officials on the situation in Romania.
According to Nicolai and Ivan, Macovei launched an unprecedented attack against the country's intrests.
