"After 10 years in which I have seen lies, garbage and use of state institutions by Mr. Basescu for his personal interests, today there are still 33 days left from this tragedy that lasted 9 years and 11 months," the Premier said.
Victor Ponta added that the statements by Traian Băsescu on the fact that he was an undercover officer are "all lies", the president being "extremely disturbed and frustrated".
"Other than that, in all sincerity I tell you that today I am praying for Mr. Băsescu too, who is extremely disturbed and frustrated and I believe that Romanians should no longer depend on the frustrations and disturbances of a person. Unlike Mr. Băsescu, who only claims to, but who in fact does not respect in any way the state institutions which he uses against political opponents, I believe that in Romania there are state institutions, there is justice which will most likely hold accountable anyone who has violated the law, Ponta stated Tuesday while attending the Saint Parascheva celebration.
