In the middle of the Big Brother scandal, SRI chief admitted that the  service he leads has got covered agents in the press. A normality for all European countries, says George Maior. Over time, several heads of SRI have confirmed that there covered journalists.

The head of SRI declaration was discussed in the  100 minutes shoe on  of Antena 3.



"SRI leads this country. It seems natural to me, to the extent that it leads this country to claim this when  another institution comes and wants to take that power, even if it is the Romanian Constitutional Court-CCR " analyst Ilie Şerbănescu said during the  100 Minutes  show.

Huge scandal in Germany on account of the covered agents in the press


In 2006, the German press was also rocked by a scandal of  covered agents. Wilhelm Dietl, well-known journalist at that time –he  published in some of the most prestigious German publications - worked for 10 years as an agent of German foreign intelligence service BND. (...)

In Germany, the Dietl case had concrete consequences. BND decided and announced publicly that it will no longer for journalists as covered secret agents. The union of the  German press introduced  in the  Press Code a clear statement: being a journalist is not compatible in any way with intelligence service activity.
