President Klaus Iohannis signed a decree Wednesday promulgating the law declaring 10 May as a national holiday, a press release issued Wednesday by the Presidential Administration reads.
The Chamber of Deputies decided, in April, as a legislative body decision that May 10 should become a national holiday, the day marking three historical moments – the beginning of the reign of Charles I, the state independence and the crowning of the first king of the country.
The bill provides that the Parliament, the President of Romania, the Government, the other central authorities can organize events for the celebration of this day within the budget allocations.
