The VAT cut on food products boosts the food sales in Romania.

An independent survey is showing food sales have gone up 17 percent, in the first two weeks of June. According to the survey, the customers are buying more since the food prices decreased with 11 percent.

The Romanian Government has lowered the VAT on food products from 24 to 9 percent, starting June 1st.
