Miron Mitrea, former Minister of Transport, was sentenced to two years imprisonment with suspended sentence. Such news have become commonplace in Romania and we are faced at the moment with a new situation. There is no ministry to have been overlooked by the prosecutor’s investigation. Now, DNA can build their own government made up of former ministers condemned, detained, imprisoned or accused.

The complete structure of the “DNA Governement”:

Adrian Nastase - Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs (was premier from 2000 to 2004 and Foreign Minister between 1991-1992)
- Sentenced to prison with execution, two punishments which he has already served;

Adriean Videanu - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health (Interim took office in October 2009 - December 2009)
-In Custody, the restitution case file.

Eugen Bejinariu – Secretary General of the Government; (occupied this position in the Nastase government)
- Involved in the Microsoft case file.

Elena Udrea – Minister of Regional Development and Tourism; (December 2008 - February 2012)
- currently in remand for the Microsoft case file, prosecuted in the "Gala Bute". case

Gabriel Sandu – Minister of Small and Medium Enterprises, Commerce and Business Environment, (Interim held office in October 2009 - December 2009)
- Microsoft case file currently under house arrest



Varujan Vosganian – Minister of Economy; (April 2007 - December 2008 and December 2012 - October 2013)
- Accused of setting up an organized crime group in the Romgaz Interagro case file.

Monica Iacob-Ridzi – Minister of Youth and Sports; (December 2008 - July 2009)
- ICCJ sentenced her to five years in prison to serve in the case file "May 2". The sentence is not final.

Decebal Traian Remeş – Minister of Finance; (1998-2000)
- Sentenced to three years in prison in the case "Caltabosul". He served his sentence.

Relu Fenechiu – Minister of Transport; (December 2012 - July 2013)
- Sentenced to five years in prison in the case " Transformatorul ".

Ioan Avram Mureșan – Minister of Agriculture (December 1998 - December 1999)
- Sentenced to three years in prison in the case "Caltabosi" and seven years in prison in a case that was tried for embezzlement.

Cristian David – Minister for Romanians Abroad; Minister of Community Funds; (December 2012 - March 2014)
- in custody in a restitution case for which he allegedly received 500,000 euro bribe.

Victor Babiuc – Minister of Interior; (October 1991 - November 1992)
- Sentenced to two years in prison in the land exchange for Becali case file - MND. He served his sentence.

Tudor Chiuariu – Minister of Justice; (April-December 2007)
- Prosecuted and put under judicial control in the case file of Viorel Hrebenciuc.

Alexandru Athanasiu – Minister of Labour; (1996-1999)
- DNA prosecutors accused him of bribery, abuse of office, influence peddling and money laundering in the Microsoft folder.

Daniel Funeriu – Minister of Education; (December 2009 - February 2012)
- Accused of abuse of office in the Microsoft folder.

Laszlo Borbely – Environment Minister; (April 2007 - December 2008)
- Accused of influence peddling by the DNA.


Codruț Șereș – Minister of Economy and Trade; (Tariceanu government)
- ICCJ sentenced him to four years and eight months in prison to serve in a strategic privatizations file.

Zsolt Nagy – Minister of Communications (December 2004 - July 2007)
-sentenced to four years in prison in the strategic privatizations file.

Victor-Atanasie Stănculescu – Defence Minister (1990 - 1991)
He served his sentence in Timisoara file.


Sorin Pantiş – Minister of Communications; (1996 - 1998)
- Sentenced to seven years in prison in the ICA file.
