The Government has submitted a statement informing that Prime Minister Victor Ponta met Monday with Avril Haines, deputy director of the Central Intelligence Agency, on which occasion " aspects of developments in the region were discussed and the excellent cooperation between the intelligence services of Romania and the United States was highlighted. Danni Avril Haines was appointed CIA deputy director on 9 August, 2013. Between 2010 and 2013, Haines worked at the White House, where she was security adviser. Before joining the White House, Haines, a lawyer by profession, was legal adviser to the State Department.
From 2007 to 2008, she was Deputy Assistant to the Committee for External Relations of the U.S. Senate. She studied physics at the University of Chicago and Law at Georgetown University Law Center.
