President Basescu transformed 14 prosecutors into judges. Băsescu's opponents, those who pass one by one by the criminal investigations division in handcuffs, say that the President is securing his support for when he leaves from Cotroceni and he is trying to settle scores, while he is still in power with the ones who trouble him.

Prosecutors Răzvan-Cosmin Dicu, Elena Poiană, Cristian Constantinescu, Nicolae-Petre Trache, Nina-Corina Cocor, Cristina Dicu, Angela Ceauşu, Eugen-Gheorghe Crişan, Petre-Valentin Bădiţă, Sterică-Dan Toma, Mariana Cânjău, Paul-Daniel Moglan and Doriana Rotaru have been appointed as judges following a decree signed by President Traian Băsescu.

"Prosecutors are professionally deformed in thinking, they are taught to prosecute. And to have a prosecutor who has never in his life passed a sentence turned directly into a judge, that basically violates our citizens rights to get a fair trial", journalist Razvan Savaliuc said On Today’s Agenda show.
