Corneliu Vadim Tudor, founder of the Greater Romania Party, died Monday evening at the Clinic Emergency Center of Cardiovascular Diseases of the Army. The politician suffered a heart attack and underwent an intervention.
Doctors tried to resuscitate and stabilize Corneliu Vadim Tudor, to no avail, the death was recorded at 18.30.

Corneliu Vadim Tudor (born on November 28 , 1949 in Bucharest) was founder of the Great Romania Party and member of the European Parliament.  

He became famous in the public environment by his volcanic temper and nationalism marked by a perpetual war with the "enemies of this country".

He had a rich political career, he was a member of Parliament in several legislatures, MEP and candidate for the presidential elections several times. In 2000 he reached the second round, where he obtained a little over 30% of the votes.

He had an impressive publishing activity, with over 30 volumes published. He also wrote prose and poetry, and some of his works have been translated into several languages.
He founded several magazines and newspapers, the best known names among them being "Romania Mare".

Corneliu Vadim Tudor was a central figure in many controversies, some generated by virulent accusations formulated by him against different people, others being disputes generated by his sometimes strong language.


He and his wife Doina have two daughters - Lidia and Eugenia.
