President Klaus Iohannis has nominated former EU Commissioner for Agriculture Dacian Cioloş as new Prime Minister. Iohannis has chosen a technocratic government to be headed by a reputed technocrat. This nomination was made after two rounds of consultations with parliamentary parties and a meeting with representatives of the civil society.
