The key witness in Udrea’s case file, architect Mihai Prădatu who allegedly committed suicide after being questioned by the DNA – was the wedding testimony of the prefect of Valcea, Petre Ungureanu.

The disclosure was made Monday on the Daily Summary show on Antena 3.
The death of architect Mihai Prădatu raises concern.

Beyond the relationship that he had with Elena Udrea and the DNA investigation that was focused on the ski area of Voineasa - Vidra which he had designed, architect Mihai Prădatu was no stranger to local deals of land restitutions.

Prădatu was the wedding testimony of the ex-prefect of Vâlcea, Petre Ungureanu, who handled many requests for restitutions of forests .
Architect Mihai Părdatu was involved in several investment projects in the Vâlcea county. After he finished the designing of the Voineasa-Vidra ski slopes, he bought a huge plot of land from Gheorghe Deaconeasa, the whistleblower of all the irregularities committed in the county by Udrea ‘s people under the umbrella of the Ministry of Tourism.

He bought from Deaconeasa a huge plot of land at a very low price of only 0,6 euro per square meter.

Deaconeasa is the one who spoke publicly about alleged heirs who were on the lookout for hectares of forests to get their hands on.

One of the decision factors behind the case was the prefect of Vâlcea, for three years, Petre Ungureanu, none other than the relative of Mihai Prădatu.

Local newspapers have written for years about the criminal hue of the businesses run by the former prefect - one of the cases also involves his wife, Anca Ungureanu.

In 2010 the Research Station for Fruit Growing from Valcea still owned the land from the former 33 owners. In 2006, the then prefect decided to validate their ownership of approximately 30 hectares, the owners having their final and irrevocable decisions of ownership.

With all these measures, implementation was delayed. The problem was passed on until the Ungureanu took the reins. He proposed owners to take possession on other sites. The litigation went back to court, where, surprise, the lawyer of the Research Station for Fruit Growing was Anca Ungureanu, the prefect’s wife. But of the 33 owners, there was a lucky one. The prefecture allowed him to take possession of his restituted plot of land, which he then sold to Ungureanu. Immediately, the prefect began the building of a palace
