Dan Voiculescu published on his blog, the first reaction after his conviction in the "Telepathy" case.

"To dignity, honor and courage I have not given up, I have not quitted it and I will not give it up. Besides, I still enjoy the most precious of freedoms: the freedom of speech and the freedom of conscience" , Dan Voiculescu writes.

"It's not easy that after a lifetime of work, effort and responsibility you should pay for something you did not do. At the same time, it is not hard once you know the cause you are fighting for. Wherever I am, I will defend the freedom press and I will fight against Basescu’s dictatorship.

But I'm worried that the press in Romania, obsessed by rivalry, consumed by financial and political stakes, are missing a crucial point in the guaranteeing of their freedom. Those who used the Voiculescu case to serve a pressure system that has already broken the free will of 87% of Romanians are naive and refuse to see the threat.

In such a system, the civil rights of every citizen can be violated anytime. Even the rights of those who today are shortsightedly enjoying this hot August.

Those who today choose to ignore the objective data of this abuse support a dangerous precedent for the entire Romanian society. "

Professor Dan Voiculescu promises, however, to continue the fight against Traian Basescu’s system.

"I will continue what I’ve started - the fight against Traian Basescu and his dictatorial system."
