Bribes worth millions of euros, propaganda TV outlets and public institutions involved in money laundering. These are a few of the activities that Gheorghe Ştefan, aka Pinalti, orchestrated together with Elena Udrea, Dorin Cocoş, Dumitru Niro and other party members connected to president Traian Băsescu.
Millions of euros taken as bribes in the Mirosoft licenses contract were not enough for Pinalti to finance his illegal activities. He started to put pressure on the business people he met.
According to the indictment drafted by the anti-corruption prosecutors, Gheorghe Stefan explained and led some businessmen to understand how part of the profits earned by their companies should go into the accounts of PDL, or to his football club or Giga TV, which Pinalti owned.
