Profitable routes that would have brought money in the company were declared unprofitable and then canceled by the private manager. Today he puts tens of thousands of dollars in the pockets of private operators.
A recent report by the Ministry of Transport confirms the illegal maneuvers performed by the company’s management. As soon as he took office with CFR, Valentin Dorobanţu, the private manager, has canceled more than 150 train routes. It was one of his first decisions. He decided to auction a number of sections and routes that brought profit to the company.
Private transport companies were interested and took over the routesimmediately. Those lines now produce profit for private operators.
Regardless of whether he would achieve the goals set in the management contract, if he is removed, the company must pay to the CFR Director up to 48 salaries of severance payments from public funds.
Valentin Dorobanţu has an income of 9,000 euros per month.
The disclosures were presented in the Daily Summary show.
