Traffic police randomly check the road worthiness of vehicles in the countries of Neamţ and Suceava, which came under a code orange warning of snowfalls. People driving in the region must have winter tyres fitted, otherwise they risk skidding off the road. It is snowing in norther Moldavia but, for the time being, only mountain tops are covered by a thick layer of snow. The Police warn drivers against a ten to fifteen centimeter snow-cover and up to 50 miles an hour snowstorms.
