The minister of EU Funds, Eugen Teodorovici, stated Thursday that Romania could reach an 80% absorption rate of EU funds in 2015, if we kept on the current trend.
"In 2013, Romania took the first position in the amounts reimbursed from the Commission to a Member State, we registered 130% growth in one year, compared to the 2007-2012. From January 1, 2013 to date, the amounts reimbursed by the Commission increased by 191% (...).
If we keep up this trend and enhance absorption in the blocked area, we could reach a level of 80% in 2015, as I firmly believe that you we can achieve that ", EU Funds Minister estimated on the Today’s Agenda show on Antena 3.
Teodorovici said that in May 2012, when he took over the ministry, we had about 8% absorption rate, and in December 2013, almost 34% "and yet we are on the last position in Europe."
