Good news for people with hepatitis. The minister assured that not before long interferon treatment for hepatitis C patients will be available in hospitals.
The contract could have been signed by now, the official said, explaining that it took so long in order to find the best possible price.
"We said we were ready in July, but time was lost because we negotiated a better price. We do not want to push the signing later than the first week of August. Then it will be found in hospitals" Health Minister Nicolae Bănicioiu said Monday on the show On Today’s Agenda on Antena 3
About making a better price for pills, the Health minister said that of the 5,200 drugs available on the market some became cheaper, but he has signals that the law was not enforced everywhere.
Regarding the situation when two drugs with the same composition have totally different prices, Minister Bănicioiu explained that the solution can be found with the MD.
"There is no therapeutic difference (between the two drugs – editor’s note). The patient should have confidence in the doctor," he assured.
