The Country's Supreme Defense Council has published a press release stating that, at the request of President Klaus Iohannis, the Council verified whether there are or not intelligence informers or collaborators among the magistrates and employees of the Prosecutions offices.

Radu Tudor commented on the topic during the Monday’s edition of the show ''On Today’s Agenda''.

'' You cannot ask someone other than the intelligence if a judge is an undercover officer. Clearly, in no country in the world nobody would come and say Mr. 'President, sir, you know, we have two at the High Court, one at the Court of Appeal and one at the Dambovita Court, who rule the sentences we want them to. No intelligence service in the world would do such a thing and never a counterintelligence or intelligence structure would recognize that a man was recruited in the interest of national security. You have no choice but to believe in the word of CSAT and of Iohannis '' said Radu Tudor.

Radu Tudor added that from now on this extremely sensitive topic will be marked by President Klaus Iohannes’s guarantee, President of the CSAT, that there are no covert magistrates. Any evidence to the contrary will affect the image of the president.

The CSAT press release:

"From the order of the President of Romania, Mr. Klaus Iohannis, in 2015, the Supreme Defence Council examined, in accordance with Art. 7 para. (3) of Law no. 303/2004 on the statute of judges and prosecutors, republished , through the relevant institutions at the request of the Superior Council of Magistracy and the Minister of Justice, the veracity of the judges, prosecutors, assistant magistrates, specialized personnel treated as such and specialized auxiliary personnel of courts and prosecutors' offices statements, therefore those concerned are not operative agents, nor undercover, informers or collaborators of the intelligence services.

Following checks performed by the authorities, it was found that judges, prosecutors, nurses, specialized personnel treated as such and auxiliary personnel of courts and prosecutors' offices are not operative workers, nor undercover, informers or collaborators of the intelligence services.

The verification results were communicated both to the Superior Council of Magistracy and the Ministry of Justice, according to the agency that requested the checks. "
