President Klaus Iohannis stated that a new feasibility study is currently performed related to the energetic cable Romania –Turkey.

Asked if he discussed with President Recep Erdogan about the project on the energy cable between Romania and Turkey, President Klaus Iohannis said: "We approached this topic in our tete-a-tete discussion. At the moment the situation is this: there was a study feasibility performed several years ago. It was considered that not all relevant data have been elucidated and competent authorities have ordered a new feasibility study to better shows what can be obtained. "
Iohannis also stated that this project is in the first phase of the study, so he asked his Turkish counterpart to wait "a little".

"I asked the President to wait a bit until we have the findings of the new feasibility study and then the two governments will find the best solutions to continue in one form or another the discussion on energy security," the head of state said.
President Recep Erdogan said that Turkey has discussed the transfer of electricity both with Romania and Bulgaria.

"This is not a new project. We discussed the transfer of electricity from Romania and Bulgaria. Our Ministers of energy continue their meeting. Our principle is to have both sides win and eventually we will make the next step in the sense of choosing the best offer, " Recep Erdogan said, according to Mediafax.
