Journalist Dan Tanasa won the “Press freedom for courage " award, Mihai Gadea announced Thursday evening on the "Daily summary", where the journalist was awarded both the trophy and a check worth 50,000 RON.
"I am overwhelmed with emotion and honor," said Dan Tănasă present in on the show on Antena 3.
Since 2008, Dan Tanasa has been writing about Covasna and Harghita local government abuse, winning numerous lawsuits in courts in Romania against local authorities in the two counties.
The "Press Freedom for courage" award is granted by the Voiculescu family Foundation, namely by the Intact Group founder, Dan Voiculescu, and his two daughters, Corina Camelia and Voiculescu
