Klaus Iohannis held a press conference during his visit to Kiev whereby he reaffirmed Romania's support for the integrity and solidarity of Ukraine. He said that during the discussion he had with the President of Ukraine he stressed the importance of enforcing the rules package from Minsk in 2012.
"Ukraine has found in the EU Member States steadfast and loyal partners. Maintaining the course of reforms is the best message on Ukraine's commitment on the European path", The president of Romania, Klaus Iohannis said.
He also specified that together with the Ukrainian President they agreed that they should give greater importance to the Ukrainian community in Romania and the Romanian community in Ukraine.
Many Ukrainians injured soldiers will be brought to our country. A panel of doctors will go to Ukraine and decide which cases of wounded soldiers will be treated in Romania, said President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. He talked to journalists who asked him if his country received weapons from Romania. "There are 11 EU countries that have contracts with us for weapons. It helps us train our troops. We defend European values and European security" Poroşenko responded.
He spoke admiringly about President Klaus Iohannis whom he also cited in his speech. Poroshenko said that Iohannis had a discourse with which he agreed: "We are elected to solve problems, not to make a show of ourselves".
