Illegal deforestation were included on the agenda of the next CSAT meeting, President Klaus Iohannis announced. Until the meeting, all relevant institutions must submit materials to provide "a clearer picture" of the extent of this phenomenon.
"Things have evolved, they moved up from the intention level. I had a discussion with the Prime Minister last week about the agenda for the next meeting of the Supreme Council of National Defence, a legal proceedings and we finalized the agenda for the next meeting CSAT. Thus, it provides an analysis of the situation in the field and we are expecting the backup documentation to be submitted until the meeting by all the institutions involved, to have a clearer picture of the extent and damage caused by illegal logging, "said Iohannis.
Asked about what he wanted to achieve in this regard, Iohannis said that first, they wanted to conduct a review and then they will make the decisions.
"In the first stage, we want to have a review conducted and see the extent of the phenomenon we are faced with, but not in general terms but quite concretely. Then, as the case may be, we will make a decision ", president Iohannis added.
