A monumental building from time of the Roman Empire, with a length of 40 meters and a width of 20 meters, was discovered in the former city of Porolissum, from the fort with the same name, in an area less explored until now. The building is currently explored by a team of archaeologists led by a Romanian archeology specialist, Coriolan Opreanu, Agerpres reports.

The discovery comes after an extensive prospecting campaign in an area of approximately 10 hectares inside the archaeological complex of Porolissum, focusing on the portion where allegedly Porolissense Septimium, Roman city, existed.
